Dal mare alle reti. Lilibeo e le sfide del Mediterraneo antico nell’era digitale
Il 15 e 16 settembre 2026 il Museo archeologico regionale Lilibeo-Marsala ospiterà due giornate dedicate alle nuove frontiere della ricerca archeologica: dati FAIR, scienza aperta, tecnologie semantiche e intelligenza artificiale.
Martedì 15 settembre | 9.30–17.00
La conferenza internazionale riunirà specialisti di archeologia, patrimonio culturale, discipline umanistiche digitali e scienze dell’informazione per riflettere su come organizzare, condividere, conservare e riutilizzare i dati archeologici.
Dalle ore 18.00 alle 19.00
Inaugurazione della mostra fotografica dedicata al relitto di Zambratija, un’eccezionale imbarcazione preistorica rinvenuta lungo la costa istriana della Croazia.
Attraverso pannelli riccamente illustrati e il racconto dei membri del gruppo internazionale di ricerca, sarà possible ripercorrere la scoperta, lo scavo e il restauro di una delle più important testimonianze della navigazione preistorica nel Mediterraneo.
L’accesso alla conferenza e all’inaugurazione è gratuito fino ad esaurimento dei posti disponibili.

Mercoledì 16 settembre | 9.30–15.30
Laboratorio pratico sulla modellazione ontological dei dati archeologici con il software Protégé, rivolto principalmente — ma non esclusivamente — a student dei corsi di laurea magistrale, dottorandi e giovan ricercatori.
La partecipazione al laboratorio è limitata a un massimo di 10 persone.

On September 15 and 16, 2026, the Lilibeo-Marsala Regional Archaeological Museum will host two days dedicated to the new frontiers of archaeological research: FAIR data, open science, semantic technologies, and artificial intelligence.
Tuesday, September 15 | 9:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m
The international conference will bring together specialists in archaeology, cultural heritage, digital humanities, and information sciences to reflect on how to organize, share, preserve, and reuse archaeological data.
From 6.00 pm to 7.00pm
Inauguration of the photographic exhibition dedicated to the wreck of Zambratija, an exceptional prehistoric vessel discovered along the Istrian coast of Croatia.
Through richly illustrated panels and the stories of members of the international research group, it will be possible to retrace the discovery, excavation, and restoration of one of the most important testimonies of prehistoric navigation in the Mediterranean.
Access to the conference and inauguration is free of charge until all available seats are filled.

Practical workshop on ontological modeling of archaeological data with the Protégé software, aimed primarily —but not exclusively— at master's students, doctoral students, and young researchers.
Participation in the workshop is limited to a maximum of 10 people.
